Ilan Dei Venice to Launch Vert Bike System on Kickstarter
at their Project Lab during Abbot Kinney Festival
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Venice, CA, Wednesday September 16, 2015 -
Ilan Dei Venice announced it will be hosting a launch event for its Kickstarter Campaign for the Vert Bike System at the Abbot Kinney Festival
on Sunday, September 27, 2015 at the IDV store.
"The Vert Bike System is a love letter to the Venice community that inspires us every day. In Venice, we travel by bicycle. Bike culture is woven into the fabric of our day to day, and with the Vert Bike System we wanted to give our community a gift. We see the bicycle as a functional work of art and we wanted to design a piece that celebrates and showcases their form and function."
INTRODUCING THE VERT BIKE SYSTEM
Designed to celebrate form and function, the Vert Bike System holds multiple bikes, fading away to draw the eye to the bicycles it cradles.
"Space is at a premium in Venice and most of us live within a small footprint, so we created a way to vertically store multiple bikes so you can seamlessly transition from inside to the outdoors," said designer and founder, Ilan Dei.
Functionally the Vert Bike System reduces the footprint of storing multiple bikes, making it easy for adults and children to store their bike vertically without ever lifting the full weight of the bike.
“The Vert Bike Rack is for the modern family. It’s a free standing solution that lives outdoors. We have a lot of experience building products that last outside, and we wanted to bring this expertise to a product that was easy to set up and doesn’t require a lot of assembly. The Vert Bike Bar is a wall mountable solution for those living within a small foot print.”
"We realized for certain members of the family it is difficult to lift their bikes into a hanging solution. When visiting homes of our friends and neighbors we noticed the bikes just get stacked in a pile creating clutter and making it difficult for Venetians to enjoy the urban outdoor lifestyle living in Venice affords. By using gravity and momentum, the Vert Bike System lets anyone store their bike vertically," says Dei.
The Vert Bike System is comprised of several key elements, primarily the Vert Bike Cradle which is designed to hold any sized bike tire, from cruiser to road bike, to fixie, and gently stabilizes the bike in its vertical position without damaging the rim of the bike.
THE VERT BIKE SYSTEM TO LAUNCH ON KICKSTARTER
Ilan Dei Venice is turning to Kickstarter to engage the community in the product's development.
"We felt Kickstarter really embodies the Venice ethos and the values that motivate our design process. At IDV we are all about creating hyper local products to make outdoor living a little more comfortable. To us Kickstarter represents the power of community, and we wanted to make the product available to a community that shares this value, and also create a way to connect directly with people that are as passionate about bike culture as we are.”
"It's insanely challenging to design and manufacture a product within a 50 mile radius of our studio in Venice, CA, but it's a challenge we embrace because it makes us more responsible in how we design. We know that commitment resonates with our community here in Venice, and we believe it will resonate with Kickstarter community as well."
REWARDS AND PRODUCT CONFIGURATIONS
The Vert Bike System will launch with several rewards tailored for different needs. Backers will receive first edition releases of the Vert Bike System based on their level of support.

AT THE IDV Store & PROJECT LAB Launch Event
To kick off the launch of their Kickstarter campaign, Ilan Dei Venice will be hosting an event at the IDV store and project lab on Abbot Kinney during the upcoming Abbot Kinney Festival.
“Abbot Kinney Festival is a perfect place to introduce the Vert Bike System. Guests will be able to see and use the Vert Bike Rack prototype and really get a feel for how it fits into their day to day. Being able to have a physical location like IDV, where people can actually put their hands on the product, share their feedback on their experience, weigh in on the colors we're thinking about for the final product, and be a part of the design process."
Guests of attending Abbott, and people in the Venice area are invited to come and check out and interact with the Vert Bike System in the store for the duration of the 30 day Kickstarter campaign.
